Non Water Based Drilling and Completions / Well Servicing
Fluids
The scope of this document includes
transportation to the site, the handling and use by field drilling
and servicing personnel onsite, as well as the recommended
equipment, personal protective equipment, and procedures. The
examination was completed with pragmatic business sense applied to
the safe use of these fluids with the primary focus on mitigating
worker health hazards, fire and explosion hazard and damage to
equipment, and with due regard for the environment.
The work involved drilling and completions/well servicing fluid
product identification, hazard awareness, and guidelines for
communication, training, and education of all parties involved.
On-site field-testing at drilling and service rig operations was
also conducted to measure airborne hydrocarbon and oil mist
exposure levels for the various tasks and areas involved.
